Frequently asked questions about personalizable dashboards in Insight Hub

Q: What charts do my users or customers see in an editable dashboard section?

A: By default, users will see the default layout that you’ve configured — but only the charts they have permission to view.

Charts that appear in the default layout must meet both of these criteria:

  • Marked as “Visible to all customers”
  • Manually added to the default layout

If a user makes changes to their editable dashboard section (e.g., adds/removes charts or rearranges), they will see only their personalized layout instead of the default.

Q: What happens if I delete a chart from the editable dashboard, and a user had it in their custom layout?

A: The chart’s spot will still exist in the user’s layout, but they will see an error message saying the chart is no longer available.

You can preview editable dashboard sections to identify which users or customers are affected. If needed, our support team can help reset a customer’s personalized layout.

Q: How are user-specific dashboard edits saved?

A: All layout changes are saved per customer inside JRNI Insight Hub.

To support this, we recommend using JRNI’s customer hierarchy model:

  • You can add sub-customers (e.g., individual users) under a parent customer
  • Each sub-customer can have their own editable dashboard settings
  • Layouts are saved at the user level, ensuring a personalized experience without overwriting shared dashboards
